Disability Rights And Inclusion is a comprehensive advocacy initiative dedicated to advancing the rights and inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) across all sectors of society. Recognizing the persistent challenges faced by PwDs, our project seeks to champion their full participation in social, economic, and educational opportunities through investigative journalism, advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and. This project focuses on identifying and addressing systemic barriers that hinder the inclusion of PwDs; as well as exposing the systemic marginalisation they suffer in society.
We have started this by supporting a media report on the plights of students with disabilities in tertiary institutions in Osun State. We also wrote about the stigmatization and false stereotypes faced by albinos.
Although we are a media foundation, this project is not limited to reporting violations of disability rights and inclusion, the project includes advocacy for the enforcement of disability rights laws and policies at all spheres of society. It also includes engagement with policy experts and stakeholders, including government agencies, educational institutions, healthcare providers, and community organizations, among other.
While we engage stakeholders through forums and dialogues, we will empower journalists and media outlets with skills and resources for effective reporting of issues related to disability rights and inclusion. We will also support investigative reporting that exposes instances of discrimination and exclusion faced by PwDs; ensuring that voices of PwDs are heard and they thrive without barriers.
Our goal is to build a more inclusive society where every individual, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to participate fully and equally. We seek support and partnership to make this vision a reality and to drive meaningful change for the PwD community.
